Promoting Environmental and Climate Justice Through Pro Bono And Public Interest Law Practice Climate and Pro Bono

The IPCC’s sixth assessment report (IPCC6AR) is characterized as a code-red for humanity. Southeast Asia, in particular, faces calamitous weather extremes as 1.5°C global warming is expected to hit by the 2030s. Nineteen of the 25 cities most exposed to a one-metre sea-level rise are in Asia.

The legal profession has a role to play in mitigating the environmental and climate crisis. This session will explore how lawyers and law students are responding to the climate emergency and mainstreaming environmental justice.
