Mr. Rup Narayan Shrestha is an advocate, a member of Supreme Court Bar Association and practicing lawyer since last 2 decades. He completed his Master in Law (LLM) and Master in Political Science. His key area working law and policy advocacy in the field of human rights specifically in the area of marginalized communities, gender and children rights. Mr. Shrestha represented these communities at various level of the court of Nepal for protection and promotion of their rights through ordinary and extraordinary jurisdiction of the court and had succeeded to achieve various milestone result in the area of LGBTI’s rights, right to confidentiality and gender equality. Mr. Shrestha also engages with a legal aid service agency to provide service for communities those are infected and affected by HIV and MARPs population. Mr. Shrestha had also served as a consultant to draft modal law and policy including HIV and STI issues, Liquor Control, Narcotic Drugs Control etc. Mr. Shrestha is also affiliated with Lawyers On The Margin (LOTM) which is an international network working in the issue of marginalized population.
