Dr Shaun McCarthy is an Associate Professor and the Director of Clinical Research at the University of Newcastle School of Law and Justice, Australia. Shaun was previously the Director of the University of Newcastle Legal Centre (UNLC) and the Older Persons Legal Clinic based at the UNLC. Shaun’s research includes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 10 – Reduced Inequalities – and 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. He is a Chief Investigator and Consultant Expert in Law and Justice in the Name, Narrate and Navigate (NNN) program. NNN is a trauma informed and culturally responsive program for young people aged 12-18 years who are at risk of, or already using, violence.
