Nobuhiro Matsuo

Nobuhiro Matsuo is an attorney-at-law at GI&T Law Office, LC in Tokyo. He began his legal career in 2004 as a judicial apprentice and served for over 15 years as a public prosecutor in various local offices across Japan. He also worked as a government attorney at the Ministry of Justice’s International Cooperation Department and later served as a long-term legal expert in Vietnam through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Since becoming a registered lawyer in 2023, he has been involved in corporate internal investigations and criminal defense for companies. He is also an active member of ABCJ (the Anti-Bribery Committee of Japan), contributing to anti-corruption efforts.

Outside his professional practice, he runs the “Legal Learning-and-Exploration Club” on a pro bono basis at his child’s public elementary school. Now in its third year, this initiative introduces basic legal concepts to children through active learning methods. His unique blend of public, international, corporate, and grassroots legal experience shapes his strong belief in early legal education as a tool to cultivate informed and rights-conscious citizens.
