Joanita Britto Menon
Senior Legal Programme Manager Asia, TrustLaw Thompson Reuters Foundation
Joanita is an Indian lawyer who began her career as a litigator in cases against human trafficking. She has represented survivors of trafficking and sexual abuse across her eight year affiliation with International Justice Mission in Mumbai, India. In the course of her career she has worked in several roles in the development sector, focusing on legal research, training of law enforcement officials, media outreach and survivor support and rehabilitation. Joanita joined TrustLaw in 2021, following which she took on a focused interest in pro bono, and has supported activities of the Thomson Reuters Foundation since. She currently serves as the Senior Legal Programme Manager Asia, where they’re continuously identifying ways to grow pro bono and action social impact in the region. Joanita is based out of Mumbai, and leads the TrustLaw Asia team for the region.
