Member of the Board of Directors of the Pro Bono Committee, the Mongolian Bar Association

My name is G.Bat-Otgon. I have been working as a lawyer in the legal field for 21 years, representing clients in criminal, civil, administrative, and labor disputes.

I served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pro Bono Committee of the Mongolian Bar Association from 2018 to 2025.

In 2023, I successfully defended my master’s thesis on the topic of Pro Bono legal regulation of Mongolia. This is the first case in Mongolia.

In 2023-2024, I was also elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Free Legal Services Committee of the Mongolian Bar Association. I defend 4-5 cases free of charge every year.

For 16 years from 2009 to 2025, training courses were organized for about 68,000 students in grades 2-12 of more than 200 secondary schools on topics such as “Character, the value of relationships, the boundaries of friendship”, “The harm of electronic use”, and “Providing legal knowledge for crime prevention”.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, free online training on “Crime Prevention” was organized for about 2,700 high school students in 70 schools in 7 provinces.

Worked on strategic advocacy in the field of environmental protection for 3 years.

Between 2014 and 2021, he was elected as the head of the Sukhbaatar District of the Mongolian Youth Union, responsible for 70,000 young people, and initiated the “Warm Hands” humanitarian campaign, delivering gifts to 1,000 children in difficult living conditions, including children living in “Juvenile Detention Centers” and “Ulaanchuluut Garbage Dumps,” and 100 families with firewood, charcoal, flour, and rice. He also initiated and organized about 38 volunteer programs, including the “Career Choice in My Life” program, “Mongolian Citizen Oath-Taking Ceremony,” the “Protect Our Future from Risks” target project, and “Drug-Free Future.”

In 2022, he stopped the system of excluding high school students based on grades throughout Mongolia through pro bono advocacy.

I served as the head of the parent council of his children’s class for 10 years.

I have been a member of the parent council of school No. 31 for 6 years.

I have been leading a youth volunteer group at the Christian church for 20 years.

I am studying for a bachelor’s degree in psychology and will graduate in 2026.
