Holly is a former public defender with experience in international and domestic law and political research. She joined the ILF in 2016 following her graduation cum laude with an LL.M. in International Crime and Justice from the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). She is a former trial-level public defender in New York and has experience arguing appeals and interning for a Federal Magistrate Judge. She received her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, after obtaining a B.A. with honors in East Asian Studies from Yale University and completing a Fulbright scholarship on women’s political participation in Turkey. Holly has worked closely with local legal aid lawyers and justice stakeholders to build effective and sustainable national legal aid systems in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, and Tunisia.
