Data governance for NGOs and SMEs – A new pro bono frontier
This session explores how pro bono legal services can help NGOs and small businesses navigate new data governance regulations in the digital economy. Participants will learn how laws like the EU’s GDPR, the U.S. CCPA, China’s PIPL, and emerging Asian frameworks—including Vietnam’s 2024 and 2025 data laws—affect organizations of all sizes.
The session highlights how pro bono lawyers can reduce compliance burdens for NGOs and SMEs, from managing documentation to addressing IT security requirements, while strengthening responsible data governance. Attendees will gain practical insights on which stakeholders to involve and how pro bono initiatives can make regulatory compliance more accessible and effective.
