Vision to Institution: How Judicial Leadership Transforms Pro Bono and Access to Justice Systems
Since 2023, the Singapore Courts have introduced initiatives showing how judicial leadership can reshape the delivery of justice. This session explores how courts can move beyond traditional adjudication to actively support pro bono work and expand access to justice. Participants will examine practical ways courts can encourage volunteer legal service providers, integrate access to justice support across the user journey, and build systems that sustain long-term impact.
Through presentations, guided demonstrations, and interactive discussions, attendees will see how courts can embed access to justice principles into operations using technology, process improvements, and strategic partnerships. Participants will share experiences from their own jurisdictions, tackle scenario-based challenges, and take away practical ideas for making pro bono a systematic part of judicial practice.
