Step 1 of 7 - Applicant Information

Please use this form if you would like to submit a stand-alone, interactive session, and/or you have an expression of interest to join another presenter's session, at the upcoming 14th Asia Pro Bono Conference (4-6 December 2026) in Fukuoka, Japan.

We welcome proposals for sessions in the following formats: in-person or hybrid. Virtual-only session proposals will not be eligible for submission. Session proposals should align with the conference theme, Reflections and Collaborative Future Vision, and nominated session themes, and demonstrate relevance to the pro bono legal work focus.

All applications must be submitted before 11:59 pm (UTC+7) on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, in order to be considered for review. Submissions received after the announced deadline will not be considered. Proposals must be submitted online through this submission system only.

We kindly ask that all submissions be provided in English, as this is the official conference language. All presentations will likewise need to be delivered in English.

If you are submitting an interactive session, please include the following information in your proposal:

If you are applying to be a co-presenter, we will need your information, a short biography, a headshot, and a summary of your area of expertise that relates to the session theme you’ve chosen. Please note that submitting this information does not guarantee that you will be confirmed as a co-presenter, as this is subject to session availability.

The Conference Program Committee will review all submissions, and decision notifications will be sent by early April 2026.

Application Options
The Asia Pro Bono Conference (APBC) provides multiple ways for participants to present.

1. The first way is an applicant can submit a stand-alone, interactive session of either 60 minutes, or 75 minutes. This type of session would include the applicant, along with other presenters, the applicant has identified.
The session should be in-line with the conference session themes and this year's conference theme: Reflections and Collaborative Future Vision. However, if the applicant has an idea for a session that focuses on Pro Bono which is not included in the session themes list, this may still be considered.

2. The second way is for an applicant who does not want to submit a stand-alone session to submit an expression of interest to be placed in a stand-alone session submitted by another applicant. To do this, the applicant should provide a background of relevant expertise and experiences related to one or more of the thematic Conference session themes. The applicant should further make suggestions as to one or more session themes the applicant would like to be a part of.

Please note there is no guarantee that the Program Committee will be able to pair the applicant with a stand-alone session, however, the Program Committee will do its best to accomplish the applicant's request.

3. The third way is for an applicant to request to submit both a stand-alone session and to additionally submit an expression of interest, Options 1 and 2 in the same application.

PLEASENOTE:
- No individual can be listed as a presenter for more than two (2) Presentation Submissions.
- The deadline for submitting an application is February 28th, 2026 at 11:59 pm (UTC+7). (The February 28 submitting deadline is firm.)

Expression of Interest applications may be accepted at a later date and are subject to both stand-alone sessions accepted by the Program Committee and the applicant's experience and expertise. In such cases, please note that session submitters will be responsible for covering any room rental costs, IT equipment, and staffing required to run the session on the day.
