Dashdemberel Ganbold is a Mongolian lawyer and member of the Mongolian Bar Association, has been practicing as a lawyer since 2008.
He specializes in environmental law and has been working in this field for 17 years. His notable achievements include drafting and passing a bill in 2016 that prohibits mining in protected forest and water areas. He also helped pass an amendment in 2010 to the Law on Environmental Protection, which allows citizens and NGOs to seek compensation from those who cause environmental damage.
In a significant legal case, Dashdemberel successfully represented the NGO “Angir Nuden Mondookhoi” to nullify a decision that approved a detailed environmental assessment report for an oil exploration project.
