Pro Bono and Statelessness in Japan

This session explores the challenges faced by stateless people in Japan and the role of pro bono support in addressing their human rights needs. It highlights the work of the Japanese NGO Stateless Network, whose volunteers, legal professionals, and university students collaborate to provide practical assistance and legal guidance.

Participants will examine how the organization builds a broad, collaborative network to strengthen human rights protection and public awareness. The session will highlight the NGO’s history and activities, offering practical insights into how partnerships can expand pro bono support for stateless communities while navigating the opportunities and challenges of this work.
