Innovating for Impact: Technology and the Future of Pro Bono in Asia
This session explores how technology is shaping the future of pro bono in Asia. From a rural legal clinic in Laos serving tens of thousands, to a Singapore clearinghouse handling thousands of requests annually, to cross-border cases requiring multi-jurisdiction collaboration, participants will examine how tech can help close the access-to-justice gap and for whom.
Drawing on Pro Bono SG’s experience developing a GenAI-powered legal information chatbot, alongside insights from legal tech practitioners and access-to-justice organizations across Asia, the session highlights practical lessons, ethical considerations, and reflections on what works. Participants will engage in a hands-on design-thinking workshop to develop tech solutions for real pro bono challenges and explore the potential of a regional Pro Bono Tech Network for ongoing collaboration.
