The Power of Storytelling: Inspiring Pro Bono Culture Through Community Voices
This session explores how storytelling through art and media can inspire and expand pro bono culture by humanising justice issues, amplifying marginalized voices, and motivating meaningful engagement across the legal ecosystem. Drawing on iProbono’s regional initiatives, it highlights practical ways legal service providers can integrate storytelling into pro bono advocacy, awareness-building, and community engagement.
Through examples from South Asia, including collaborations with community storytellers and human rights defenders, participants will see how art, theatre, music, poetry, podcasts, and visual media can complement legal advocacy, build public trust, counter misinformation, and strengthen the visibility and sustainability of pro bono work. The session is interactive and reflective, inviting participants to consider how storytelling can be adapted within their own pro bono contexts.
