The session aims to highlight the importance of monitoring and public participation in court appointments as a judicial reform advocacy strategy shoring up experiences in different countries in Asia. Hosted by the Court Appointments Watch, a Philippine network advocating for a transparent and inclusive judicial appointments process, the session will aim to present the ways by which monitoring and participation in court appointments contribute directly and indirectly to judicial reform initiatives and eventually on ensuring access to justice especially among marginalized sectors. The session will also tackle similarities and differences in experiences and contexts of several countries in Asia and eventually define action points for collaboration, strategies, networking, and capacity building.
