Professor Peter A. Joy is well known for his work in legal ethics, clinical legal education, criminal justice, and trial practice. Professor Joy has written extensively and presented nationally and internationally on clinical legal education, legal ethics, lawyer and judicial professionalism, and access to justice issues. He served as Vice Dean from 2010 to 2012 and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs from 2018 to 2020 and Spring 2025. As Director of the Criminal Justice Clinic, he supervises law students representing clients in criminal matters.<\/p>\n
Professor Joy is a co-author of Australian Clinical Legal Education (2017) and Clinical Legal Education for This Millennium: The Third Wave (Miche & Osaka trans. 2005) (Japanese Language). He is also the author or co-author of more than 10 book chapters, over 50 law review articles and essays, and over 75 legal ethics columns addressing ethical issues for defense lawyers and prosecutors. He is a recipient of the Association of American Law Schools\u2019 (AALS) Pincus ward for outstanding contribution to clinical legal education and has served on the Board of Editors for the International Journal of Clinical Legal Education and the Clinical Law Review.<\/p>\n
