見えない依頼人:司法制度における精神的健康上の課題を抱える人々のためのプロボノ弁護
This session explores how pro bono lawyers can better support clients with mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and schizophrenia. These clients often face barriers in the justice system, from difficulties disclosing their conditions to challenges participating meaningfully in proceedings not designed for them. The session highlights innovative, trauma-informed approaches that make legal services more accessible and effective for these underserved populations.
Drawing on Pro Bono SG’s experience establishing Singapore’s first Inclusive Justice Support Centre, which integrates legal, mental health, and social support, participants will engage in scenario-based exercises to build empathy and practical skills. The session provides a concrete “Trauma-Informed Lawyering” toolkit, insights into integrated services, and actionable ideas for pro bono lawyers to strengthen access to justice while maintaining their own well-being.
